Strictly Come Dancing: ‘It is hard’ Anton Du Beke confesses one thing he refuses to do

Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Anton Du Beke, opened up about the one thing he outright refuses to do, in an interview with Mail Online. Speaking candidly about how work commitments keep him from sending time with his family, he revealed there are some jobs he wouldn’t dream of doing for that very reason.

The dancer, who has two twins George and Henrietta who he shares with his wife Hannah Summers, admitted he finds it “difficult” to be away from his family.

And, juggling the hectic workload of the Strictly show and the dancing tour the following spring, we can only sympathise with how he feels.

He said: “It is hard being away from my children – FaceTime is an incredible thing so you maintain that connection, though it’s difficult.

“Even if you have a 9-5 job it can be hard because that doesn’t exist, by the time you travel it’s sort of 8-7 so for some people they can’t see their babies until the weekend,” he explained.

“I am incredibly fortunate that I get to see them more than that.”

With his main concern being away too long from his three-year-old youngsters, he confessed a West End debut is certainly off the cards.

“One of the reasons I don’t do a residency show or a show in the West End is because I would have to be away from the babies all the time,” he shrugged.

“Every night in a theatre – that’s too much.”

Over Christmas, the BBC dancer delighted fans by sharing a video of the twins, already following in their fathers footsteps.

The sweet post showed George and Henrietta holding hands and dancing around together in circles, giggling with joy as they twirl to the music.

Anton couldn’t have been prouder, as he captioned the post: “Aren’t they a couple of beauties?!”

It’s safe to say, Anton’s family is the most important thing in his life, which he made clear during an interview on Loose Women last week.

He and Hannah had their twins via IVF, and he spoke about how he helped inject his wife during the “gruelling” process.

Speaking on the show, he reflected: “The injections, it’s gruelling, intense and painful, the bruising.

“But of course, you know, you forgo all that because the potential prize at the end of having babies, we were fortunate to have the twins, George and Henrietta.”

He added: “It’s horrible and I say, I am in awe of Hannah, you’re having injections all the time.

“They’re not little invisible needles, they are big old blunt things you’ve got to ram in and I had to do it.”

He remembered he was worried he would “hurt” her with the needles.

“You’re like, ‘Please don’t hurt her’ and of course it’s so hard to do it, but then of course, what am I worried about?

“She’s the one who’s got to go through the pain.”

He went on to say: “The process again is remarkable.”

Well it definitely seems like the West End is a big no no for Anton right now, but maybe as the twins grow older, the Strictly favourite might dabble in a prestigious on-stage show after all.
