Strictly star says TV bosses recycle her outfits and she sees them on Eastenders

Claudia Winkleman says the BBC turns her Strictly outfits into hand-me-downs – and she has even spotted one on EastEnders.

The dancing show host was stunned to see Sharon Mitchell wearing her clobber in Albert Square.

Claudia, 47, and co-host Tess Daly, 50, dress to the nines every week on Strictly in a variety of glitzy dresses and trousers.

Mum-of-three Claudia is delighted her clothes find good homes.

“I love the clothes I wear on Strictly but I don’t get to keep them,” she said. “They go back to the BBC and I absolutely love it when I see other people wearing them.

“Sometimes I like colour. I wore a red sequinned trouser suit for the launch of Strictly and that was one of the best things I’ve worn. It felt wild.”

One of the highest paid women on TV, Claudia has vowed only to continue on the series for as long as her pal Tess is by her side.

“Tess and I will leave at the same time,” she said.

And she says forming a female primetime duo is like a dream. “Imposter syndrome, I’ve got it in capital letters,” the mum of three added.

“Even if they phoned me now and said, ‘You’re done’, I’d still think I have had the best career possible.
