Presenter and actress Kym Marsh has been in the public eye for more than 20 years after she shot to fame as part of the Pop Idol band Hear’Say. Since then, she has gone on to star in ITV’s Coronation Street, followed by hosting BBC’s For Love Or Money and Morning Live. Her latest challenge is dancing live for the nation on the unforgettable Strictly Come Dancing. So what is there to know about Kym’s personal life away from the cameras?
Who was Strictly Come Dancing star Kym Marsh first married to?
Former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh was first married to fellow soap actor Jack Ryder.
Fans will best recognise him for playing Jamie Mitchell in EastEnders for four years, before making his exit in 2002.
His uncle Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) used to beat Jamie up but when he finally fought back, with some encouragement from Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), Billy apologised and changed for good.
Sadly, his character had a tragic ending in EastEnders as he was accidentally run over by Martin Fowler (James Bye), leaving his fiancée Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) devastated.
Marsh and Ryder reportedly met in the BBC canteen while he was working on the BBC soap.
She was there because Hear’Say was making an appearance on Top of the Pops and in 2002, the couple married.
They initially settled down in St Albans but with Marsh wanting roles in the north and to be closer to her family, they moved to Manchester in 2004.
She got the role of Michelle Connor in Coronation Street in 2006 but two years later, the actors called time on their marriage.
However, Marsh reportedly admitted to committing adultery in their divorce papers.
She went on to date and marry Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas but insisted that their relationship only started when she and Ryder had separated.
In 2010, Marsh was pregnant but at 21 weeks, she went into labour as her body rejected the baby and sadly, baby Archie died a few minutes after being born.
They welcomed their daughter Polly in 2011, got married in 2012 but divorced in 2014.

The Strictly star does have another two children from builder Dave Cunliffe to who she was engaged in the 1990s.
They met at a karaoke pub in her hometown in 1994 and went on to have children David and Emily before splitting up in 1999.
Fast-forward to the present day and Marsh is happily married to Army Major Scott Radcliff.
Having met through a mutual friend, they started dating in 2018 and have been inseparable ever since.
Marsh and Ratcliff got married in 2021 but as he is in the army, he often goes on tour which doesn’t always sit easily with the actress.
She told The Sun in 2019: “There is always anxiety, it is always stressful when he goes away.
“There may not be an actual war threat currently but there’s always a risk when you’re in these dangerous places.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday, October 1, at 6.30pm on BBC One.
