Former EastEnders star Nigel Harman will join Strictly Come Dancing
Strictly Come Dancing contestants seemed mainly pleased about their partners on Saturday night, but former EastEnders star Nigel Harman admitted to being a little concerned.
The former EastEnders heartthrob was paired with Strictly favourite Katya Jones.
Host Claudia Winkleman pointed out that Katya could be quite strict and asked if the actor was ready.
“Everyone keeps telling me this,” he replied, adding: “And every time they tell me this I get more and more terrified, but I am
pretending I’m really calm about it.”
When asked about what Katya has in store for Nigel, she didn’t give much away as she responded: “Ideas will come as we get to know each other.”

While many soap icons have graced the dancefloor for their own Strictly journey in the past, Nigel hasn’t taken much comfort from either former EastEnders co-stars who have or his Casualty pal.
Charlie Venn took part in the 2018 series and works alongside Nigel in the hospital drama, where he plays Jacob Masters.
Speaking recently to Express.co.uk and other publications, Nigel explained he had tried to seek advice from Charlie but ended up regretting it.
“To be honest, I haven’t spoken to anyone from EastEnders that was in it,” he stated.

The actor added: “I spoke to Charlie Venn, he just told me to be myself and to do cardio.
“Which, coming from Charlie… I was like, ‘What? Even you struggled with it?’ He went, ‘I was knackered.’ So that didn’t help, that conversation.”
It seems Nigel’s new fears surrounding his partner and his co-star’s well-intended advice will only add to the concerns he already has.
Shortly after it was announced he was in this year’s line-up, Nigel admitted: “I’m amazed, excited, and terrified to be doing Strictly.
“As an armchair fan of the show I have watched in awe as people have twirled and gyrated across the screen. And now it’s my turn…..gulp!”
Nigel is bound to have a big following to support him though.
The 50-year-old is more recently known for his role as Max Cristie BBC’s Casualty but was also an all-time EastEnders favourite between 2003 and 2005 when he starred as the troubled Dennis Rickman.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.35pm on BBC One.
