The Bachelorette Season 14 star Becca Kufrin is single and ready to take on the next chapter of her life. Kufrin recently opened up about her split from Garrett Yrigoyen, her final rose recipient on the ABC reality series. Now, the former reality star has shared a brief update on how she’s doing post-breakup.
Becca Kufrin and Garrett Yrigoyen aren’t together after ‘The Bachelorette’
Kufrin and Yrigoyen got together on The Bachelorette in 2018. But the couple split two years after their engagement aired on network television.
“With a heavy heart, Garrett and I have come to the loving conclusion to end our engagement,” Kufrin wrote on Instagram in September 2020. “All that we will share is that we still have nothing but love and respect for one another even though we’ve decided to go down our own separate paths.”
In June, Yrigoyen supported law enforcement amid the Black Lives Matter protests, and Kufrin didn’t agree with her then-fiancé’s views. Meanwhile, break up rumors swirled when the two individuals spent time apart. Then in an emotional Bachelor Happy Hour podcast episode, Kufrin suggested the broken relationship went deeper than a single social media post.
“To any relationship, there’s a lot of layers,” Kufrin said at the time. “It’s not for me to divulge details. It’s no one’s business other than what I’m telling you right now.”
Shortly after the separation announcement, Kufrin moved from the San Diego area to LA.
“Spoiler: I’m officially an LA resident,” Kufrin wrote on Instagram. “After a crazy couple of months, I made the last-minute decision to sign a lease (sight unseen) in an area that I was totally unfamiliar with. But I’m here to embrace this new adventure and put down some roots in the City of Angels during this next chapter in my life.”
Becca Kufrin opens up about her life now
In the Sept. 15 episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Kufrin and co-host Rachel Lindsay opened up about dating multiple men on The Bachelorette. Then Kufrin shared how the leading role prepared her for single life in LA today.
“Obviously, I am single. And now that I can say that, it’s easier to talk about where I’m at,” Kufrin said, adding she’s only been in “exclusive relationships” in the past.
“[The Bachelorette] was the first time where I could explore multiple relationships at once and really balance them out,” she continued. “So now, I’m like, you know what? I’m 30. I’m ready to maybe be OK with not having to throw all my eggs in one basket, per se … Just kind of enjoy the experience that life and dating has to offer.”
Meanwhile, Lindsay expressed excitement for her co-host and friend, noting there’s something “magical” about being in your 30s.
“I can’t tell you what it is about turning 30, but it’s like a lightbulb goes off,” Lindsay said. “I came out of a really tough relationship when I was 31, and I was at the bottom. Then later that year, my entire life changed. There is something magical about your 30s, and I am so excited for you.”
Then Kufrin agreed and explained how she’s feeling with all the changes.
“I feel like it’s this weird, magical spot that I’m in right now,” Kufrin said. “Maybe it’s the fact that I also moved to LA and it’s this new chapter. But it just feels like magic.”
