The Chase fans were floored at one contestant's incredible performance as she took a huge amount of money through to the final round with her and took on Anne Hegerty.
Three contestants went up against host Bradley Walsh and chaser Anne Hegerty but to no avail, with one even opting for the lowest offer of £300 in an attempt to “get back home”.
Following her predecessors, viewers didn’t have much hope for Annabelle as she stood up to the podium to try her luck on the gameshow.
Annabelle described herself as a “social entrepreneur” to a confused Bradley Walsh who questioned her about the unusual title.
Annabelle went on to explain that she joins up with other like-minded people to help underprivileged youths on their path to their careers, which Walsh praised her for.
Bradley then put her through the quick fire round and she answered with incredible speed, noted by Anne who congratulated her for the rapid responses.
As she was on her own, Annabelle went for the top cash prize when it was her turn to face the chaser as she “had nothing to lose”.
After an entertaining head-to-head between contestant and chaser, Annabelle eventually safely made it home and into the final round when the penultimate game began.
She quickly responded to the host’s questions with astounding speed and Twitter erupted with awe as she managed to finish the round with 20 steps in front of Hegerty.
Annabelle had an impressive run on the show as she watched her team’s numbers dwindle one by one but unfortunately she was beaten to the £80,000 with a mere 9 seconds to spare.
One viewer tweeted their admiration for the social entrepreneur: "Annabelle may have lost but she was amazing. Hats off to her doing so well on her own.”
Another fan joked: "Can we have Annabelle as a chaser and get rid of Jenny?"
"Unlucky, never wanted someone to win so much. Absolutely deserved it, Annabelle has the respect of everyone watching that show today. Well played," said an impressed fan.
One viewer even said that they hoped they "brought her back for Beat the Chasers" for a chance to win some well deserved prize money.
Bradley branded her performance as "the most fantastic match I’ve played in a while" and said that he was "shocked" before calling her an "extraordinary player".
