The Fast and The Farmer-ish viewers seriously divided as BBC launches 'Top Gear with tractors'

THE Fast and The Farmer-ish viewers are seriously divided as BBC Three launched "Top Gear with tractors" on Wednesday.

The new show, presented by real-life farmer and online influencer Tom Pemberton, hit our screens on the popular television channel yesterday.

The seven-part series follows teams from around the UK and Northern Ireland battle against each other in challenges to become the champion.

Since it aired last night, many fans have taken to Twitter to share their opinion on the programme – and it's certainly a mixed bag.

Some absolutely love the show, with one writing: "Fast & Farmerish For this show alone, potentially makes TV licence fee worthwhile just for that."

Another said: "I hope @Chris_Stark is watching the fast & the farmerish on @bbcthree_ this needs to be mentioned on the show show tomorrow absolutely brilliant."

A third chimed in: "The Fast and the Farmer-ish on BBC Three was worth a watch :-)."

Meanwhile others aren't as impressed with the new show.

BBC Three announced the new Top Gear-style series in April last year.

The programme is the first commission to come out of BBC Three's partnership with BBC Northern Ireland and Northern Ireland Screen.

The UK's public broadcaster said in a press release: "With 11 million people living in rural areas of the UK and about a quarter of these under 30, The Fast And The Farmer(ish) provides a glimpse into the lives of young farmers, in an entertaining new competitive series which showcases tractor-driving talent.
