Masked Singer US reveal: Melissa Joan Hart is Lamp
The Masked Singer US season nine continued in style on Wednesday night – but the competition got heated when two stars were unmasked and sent home. The beloved celebrity guessing game celebrated their Space Night with all remaining contestants performing out-of-this-world songs to STAY in the game.
Unfortunately, it was decided Dandelion and Lamp were going home.
Lamp was first to be uncovered, after the star gave it their all with a rendition of Bananarama classic, ‘Venus’, complete with alien backing dancers.
Judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger were all on their A-game and correctly cracked the real-life identity of the mystery star.
In the big reveal, Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Clarissa Explains It All star, Melissa Joan Hart, was unmasked.
“This was something I wanted to do for my kids and myself,” Melissa told host Nick Cannon.
“I wanted to overcome something. I have never sang in front of people before. It is terrifying to me. This was like overcoming a fear, and I did it, guys!”
Ken Jeong was the only person to guess incorrectly, believing Michelle Williams to be hiding under the Lamp identity.
Thankfully, he was able to get back in the game, and jumped for joy when he correctly guessed the next eliminated celebrity.
After dazzling with a performance of Muse’s Starlight, actress Alicia Witt was revealed to be Dandelion.
The Cybill and Urban Legend star beamed and held her arms out to Jeong as he enthusiastically celebrated finally getting one right “for once in his life”.
Host Cannon told him: “We’re all proud of you, Ken.”
Thicke believed Dandelion was Sara Bareilles, while Scherzinger thought New Girl’s Zooey Deschanel was in disguise. Jenny thought it could be The Fifth Element star, Milla Jovovich.

In an emotional interview after her giant dome-like mask was taken off, Alicia declared the show “the best thing she’d ever done”.
Alicia, who has previously battled cancer, admitted she struggled under the weight and pressure of the mask and bodysuit.
“Nothing could prepare me for trying to play the piano and sing and catch my breath with all of this on, but I’m really glad I tried,” she told Cannon.
“The thing I loved the most is getting to connect to people with my music and this has been one of the best experiences of my whole life.”
Season nine has proven to be the most unpredictable competition yet – with Hollywood legends and reality stars all accounted for underneath the elaborate costumes.
Scherzinger broke down in tears in the first episode when 97-year-old Mary Poppins legend Dick Van Dyke was revealed to be Gnome, thanking him for bringing her so much joy as a child.
Other reveals have included Selling Sunset’s Christine Quinn as Scorpio, actress Malin Ackerman as Squirrel, and DJ Grandmaster Flash as polar bear.
Six characters remain in the game unidentified – California Roll (a group effort), Gargoyle, Macaw, Mantis, Medusa and UFO.
