The Walking Dead in Whisperer plot hole as Negan heralded as leader straight after killing Alpha

THE Walking Dead has created a Whisperer plot hole after Negan was heralded as the new leader straight after killing Alpha.

The former leader of the Saviours – played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan – killed the leader of the Whisperers in a recent episode, beheading her and taking her zombified head back to Carol.

But in the latest episode, Negan found himself being held captive by Daryl (Norman Reedus) who didn't believe he had been working with Carol to take down Alpha (Samantha Morton).

When Negan took Daryl to where he had placed Alpha's head on a pike, it had gone, and the men soon found themselves confronted by three Whisperers.

But to Daryl's surprise, the men kneeled down in front of him and declared he was the new leader of the Whisperers after taking out Alpha.

Clearly enjoying the turn of events, Negan teased Daryl by saying to the men: "I'm a bit confused.

"If I'm the Alpha, why is someone who is most definitely not the Alpha holding a bada** shotgun?"

The man dutifully handed over the shotgun to Negan, who then made Daryl kneel in front of him.

But Negan soon revealed his true intentions when he shot one of the Whisperers in the head, before engaging in a fist fight with one of the others while Daryl tackled the third.

However, it's debatable whether the two Whisperers would have attacked their new leader in the first place even after he shot the first man.

When Alpha was in charge, she had no qualms about killing members of her own gang in front of her followers.

Which ever way she sacrificed them, her actions or motives were never questioned by the rest of the Whisperers.

So Negan killing one of 'his own' shouldn't have provoked anger among the remaining two, causing a potential oversight or plot hole in the scripts.
