This Morning fans couldn't believe what they were hearing when a man appeared on the show today to tell the horrific story of when he was hit by lightning.
Eric Brocklebank was live on the show via video link as he was interviewed by hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
Following the weather recently, he made the cameo to warn the public of the dangers of lightning and why you should take cover – but not under a tree.
When he was 64 years old in 2009, Eric was struck by lightning while out with his group of Air Cadets, and as he was boiling sausages using a tong he was hit by nature.
He told the hosts and viewers: "It hit me directly when I took the Air Cadets back to safety back to a tent. Four cadets, I said to them, 'hot chocolate or hot water be careful'.
"When I got the bread rolls out and the tongs in the pan to lift the Frankfurter sausages up and as I lifted it up it struck the tongs which I was holding."
After Eamonn asked what the pain was like, Eric replied: "It's hard to describe the pain.
"I was screaming. It went through my arms and it went down to my feet.
"The bones in my legs were steaming.
"My wife took my shoes off. My feet were steaming. I lost my toe nails."
Luckily for Eric his son was there and his fellow Air Cadets, who all knew CPR and managed to keep him alive until the paramedics arrived.
Thanking them, Eric said: "Air Cadets, they were pure geniuses, they were like lightning working on me so quickly. They attended to me until paramedics came."
He then revealed that 11 years later the accident is still causing him health problems.
Eric said: "I have scar tissue on my lung, a gentleman problem, prostate problem, lots of problems."
Due to there being lightning the last few months, Ruth asked Eric if it "frightens" him.
He responded: "No it doesn't, I'm more aware of it and you must take precautions, you do not go under trees, you take for cover.
"I have a sense for lightning coming. You can feel it within you, it's like bad headache its upon you."
This Morning continues tomorrow at 10.30am.
