HBO’s world-renowned superhero series is gearing up for the release of season four with the addition of some new villains. Which includes the addition of The Originals and The Vampire Diaries alumni, Joseph Morgan.
As fans eagerly await the release of the upcoming DC comic series, Titans have recruited some familiar faces to play its well-known villains.
According to Deadline Joseph Morgan, who starred as Klaus in The Original will portray Sebastian Blood/Brother Blood in highly anticipated season four.
The actor will become a series regular for the role of the introverted villain with strong intelligence and a hidden darker nature.
Morgan’s upcoming role is unlikely to be a huge challenge for the actor as Klaus was once the biggest villain in the entire franchise.
Joining Morgan in season four is Franka Potente who was also penned as a series regular.
The actress will play May Bennett/Mother Mayhem, who is known by fans as a natural leader who always carries the threat of violence with her.
She is also a predator in human form with an unfettered belief in her mission in the world.
Comic readers will know May Bennett was one of the worshippers of the Church of Blood and was chosen personally by the seventh Brother Blood to be his consort.
Lisa Ambalavanar is the third actor cast to play a villain in the upcoming instalment of Titans, where she will have a recurring role.
Ambalavanar will take on the role of Jinx, who Deadline describe as: “a quick-witted criminal loner and a master of dark magic with a joy for manipulating others and creating chaos while doing it.”
The character was created by Marv Wolfman and Chuck Patton, and first made an appearance in Tale of the Teen Titans #56 in August 1985.
Fans will also recall Jinx and Brother Blood were featured in the animated Teen Titans series, while Sebastian Blood appeared in the second season of Arrow on the CW.
The trio are the latest additions to a cast which also includes Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Curran Walters, Conor Leslie, Minka Kelly and Alan Ritchson, among others.
Titans was renewed for a fourth season in 2021 during the DC FanDome event, the show shared a video compilation of fight scenes alongside the caption: “we go again!”
HBO later confirmed its renewal which was announced while its third season was still on screens.
Thankfully, viewers will soon find out the fate of their favourite characters as season three saw Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) and the Police Commissioner Barbara Gordon (Savannah Welch) team up to protect Gotham.
All the while, the other heroes were up against Jason Todd / Red Hood (Curran Walters)
Titans originally premiered on the DC Universe Service before moving to HBO, which will more than likely happen with season four.
Morgan even took to Twitter to share his excitement about joining the DC universe and wrote: “Titans I’m honoured to be stepping into the DC Universe and playing such a layered, complex, ruthless and vulnerable role. This is gonna be exhilarating.”
While a release date is yet to be revealed, express.co.uk will be updated with information.
