Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) faced police questioning tonight following the car crash that led to Imran Habeeb’s (Charlie de Melo) death in Coronation Street.
After being knocked unconscious, Imran woke up first in the wreckage of the car, horrified to see Toyah hadn’t woken up.
Imran’s injuries appeared minor at this stage, so he set about trying to save Toyah from the car.
He pulled her from the smashed vehicle and shortly after, scaffolding fell onto the car.
Imran held Toyah in his arms and started to cry, fearing he was seconds away from losing his wife.
But as paramedics arrived, there was yet another twist to this complicated tale.
Imran staggered to the ambulance to try and sit beside Toyah but collapsed onto the floor.
Despite paramedics attempting to save Imran, Toyah was later told in hospital her husband had died after suffering cardiac arrest.
Completely devastated, Toyah was forced to turn her attention away from trying to process the news as PC Brady paid her a visit.
Wanting more information on the moments leading up to the crash, PC Brady asked Toyah how much she could remember.
Struggling to remember everything, Toyah was puzzled when PC Brady told her she didn’t follow the curvature of the road, meaning she simply drove straight into the building.
Toyah was adamant she hit the brakes on the car, but also learnt there wasn’t any tire marks on the road, leaving PC Brady to wonder if the brakes had been tampered with, or Toyah simply didn’t hit the pedal.
Flashbacks during Friday’s instalment of the ITV soap will allow us to learn more about the crash, but where does this leave Toyah?
If she drove straight into the building – could the police arrest her for trying to murder Imran?
