Trevor Noah showcased President Donald Trump’s attempts to troll 16-year-old climate change activist Greta Thunberg on The Daily Show Thursday.
After Thunberg was named Time‘s Person of the Year — a title Trump has always coveted — he tweeted out, “So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!” On The Daily Show, Noah pointed out just how insane it was that the 73-year-old president was bullying a teenager, saying it’s impossible to imagine any other president embracing such a tactic.
“Imagine FDR doing a Fireside Chat where he just goes in on Shirley Temple,” Noah cracked before breaking out an FDR impression: “My fellow Americans, this little girl can’t dance for shit! She’s got worse moves than I do and my legs don’t work!”
Noah pointed out that Trump had no right to tell Thunberg, or anyone, to chill, considering he is the least chill human being of all time (to prove his point Noah imagined what Trump would sound like as the voice on a meditation app).
Still, the Daily Show host praised Thunberg for taking Trump’s petty jibes in stride by changing her Twitter bio to “A teenager working on her anger management problem. Currently chilling and watching a good old fashioned movie with a friend.”
“That’s phenomenal from her and I’m not surprised,” Noah said. “She’s 16 so she’s used to handling temper tantrums from immature boys.”
