The gripping week-long anniversary special of EastEnders continues, with every episode this week focusing around an ill-fated boat party which will end in the death of one Walford resident.
Bosses have promised viewers that the soap’s 35th anniversary will be celebrated with an action-packed week of unforgettable episodes.
Meanwhile, actor Danny Walters who plays Keanu Taylor, said the scenes which unfold this week are some of the ‘most iconic’ ever.
He said: ‘I think the episodes we’ve just filmed will be some of the most iconic, they’re on the Thames, there’s so much drama – I can’t wait to see them.’
Was it really filmed on the Thames or was it shot elsewhere?
Where was the EastEnders boat party filmed?
The boat party was filmed on location at the Thames, with some of the underwater scenes filmed at the soap’s studios in Elstree and in an underwater tank.

Executive producer Jon Sen admitted it was a ‘huge operation’ to film, owing to the sheer size of the Thames as well as restrictions imposed by weather.
At a press event on Monday, he told Digital Spy: ‘It’s a huge operation. We took a team who are more used to a sedate sound stage up at Elstree and we said: “Here you go! Here’s the Thames, in the middle of Storm Brendan.”‘
He went on to say the crew of 150 people ‘rose to the challenge’ mentioning they had to film the exterior parts on the Thames after Christmas, in order to avoid the Christmas lights.
Storm Brendan hit the UK in mid-January, meaning the bulk of filming was done relatively recently.
Jon spoke to Metro.co.uk about his inspiration behind shooting on the Thames, saying: ‘I remember we all got together and we sat down and listed everything we wanted an anniversary episode to be, and when we dug into it, we thought about what we wanted to celebrate. EastEnders, London, contemporary, compelling kind of stories and then obviously we have the shot of the Thames in the opening credits and you go, ‘ah, there’s the idea!’
And compelling is the operative word, with Monday night’s episode already leaving viewers on tenterhooks.
The episode ended with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Mick Carter’s (Danny Dyer) life hanging in the balance, as they found themselves trapped below deck as the boat filled with water.
Mick vowed to stay with Linda, who appeared to be stuck.
But that’s not all – there was an audible gunshot too, a glimpse of a body bag and Whitney, Kat, Kush, Ian, and Callum were all unaccounted for.
Who will plunge into the Thames and was anyone shot? All will be revealed over the coming days.
EastEnders continues on Tuesday 18 February at 7:30pm on BBC One.
