KARENJEET KAUR BAINS announced at the end of May that she was joining the cast of the BBC reboot of Gladiators.
The athlete has signed up for the show, which will be hosted by Bradley Walsh and his son Barney Walsh, and feature classic challenges from the original as well as new games, as the first Sikh Gladiator.

Karenjeet Kaur Bains is an athlete from Warwick, England.
After her casting on Gladiators was announced she said: "I represent all those from diverse and minority backgrounds, especially women, that have ever been denied the opportunity to pursue their dreams in sport.
"I hope I can be a role model and show the levels a female can achieve, if she is given the opportunity to follow her passion and given the wings to fly!"
Karenjeet's name on Gladiators is Athena, the Greek Goddess of War.

The original Gladiators ran on ITV for eight seasons from 1992 until 2000.
The other new Gladiators joining Athena on the cast include Bionic, Electro and Phantom.
In June 2023 The Sun reported that two of the female Gladiators, Comet and Sabre, were forced out the games after suffering horror injuries.
Filming for the series began in June but it's not yet known exactly when the series will air on the BBC.

When did Karenjeet Kaur Bains take part in the Commonwealth Games?
Karenjeet first represented Team GB at the Commonwealth Games in 2015, where she broke two British records and placed fifth.
She then suffered an injury which meant she was unable to take part in competitive powerlifting for several years.
In 2019 she became the Commonwealth Champion, winning three gold medals and two silver medals in Newfoundland, Canada.
The star is the five-time All England Powerlifting Champion and five-time British Powerlifting Champion.
Karenjeet has also represented Great Britain at the World and European Championships.
She holds the Guinness World Record for the "Most Bodyweight Squats in a minute".
On top of all her sporting achievements, Karenjeet is also a chartered accountant.
