Who might replace Jamie Laing on Strictly Come Dancing after he quits show

Strictly Come Dancing is yet to reveal who will replace Jamie Laing on the 2019 series line-up, after he quit the show this week.

Just days ahead of the launch, the Made in Chelsea star confirmed he'd pulled out of the BBC show due to injury.

Jamie said: "I'm absolutely devastated that I'm unable to continue in the competition, I was so excited to hit the dance floor!

"I would like to wish the lovely couples all the very best and hope they enjoy their time on the show to the fullest."

Jamie was due to take to the dance floor with a yet to be revealed professional dancer on the series, and was even tipped to be a finalist.

Now, as the series returns, the show is a cast member down with someone without a partner just days before the official launch.

Viewers shared their upset on Twitter , even calling for him to be able to return next year instead.

So who will replace Jamie, and which celebrity will be taking on those sequined outfits very soon?

It's thought the BBC already have someone in mind, with celebrities on stand-by in case a replacement is needed.

Meanwhile, Sam Allardyce was one of the rumoured names who didn't end up being confirmed for the series this year.

Chris Evans had also claimed he was taking part, while he too was not on the official line-up.

Vogue Williams, Scarlett Moffatt and Tim Lovejoy were other names all thrown into the mix but never confirmed.

As for who will replace Jamie, an announcement is expected soon while he will still appear in the prerecorded launch episode on Saturday.

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 launches on BBC One on Saturday at 7:10pm.
