LOVE Island fans only have a few months to wait before a new winter version of the show begins.
Yep, ITV has officially commissioned two series' of the show to air in 2020 and the first one is taking place in a spanking new villa based in South Africa!
When does Winter Love Island start?
There isn't a set date for the new Winter series but it is expected to take place in January.
According to reports, the winter version is set to be filmed after Christmas to fill in the gaping hole Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother left.
A well-placed telly source told The Sun: “After the flop of Survival of the Fittest producers want to keep the format simple and mop up the gaping hole Celebrity Big Brother left reality TV hungry audiences.
"Winter Love Island makes sense as fans adore the drama and love triangles and everyone wants to enjoy a bit of sun on screens in the cold winter months."
Applications are open NOW if you are looking for love and the closing date is November 30, 2019.
Where will the Winter Love Island villa be?
The series will be in an all new location, as contestants will bask in the sunshine from a brand new villa in Cape Town in South Africa.
Paul Mortimer, Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions at ITV, said: “Off the back of a record-breaking year, we're delighted to be bringing an extra series of our biggest and sunniest show to the 2020 schedule.
"Love Island has proven yet again to be the perfect format that engages younger audiences.
"In response to this viewer appetite, a new batch of young singletons will deliver some highly anticipated post-Christmas romance and drama from our new and luxurious location."
The mid-year series will then return to Europe for a summer of love closer to home.
Who are the Winter Love Island contestants?
The Sun exclusively revealed that Ellis Iyayi is a favourite to star in the new series.
With over 9,000 followers on Instagram, he's well on his way to becoming a bit of a star once Winter Love Island kicks off.
The university student works as a personal trainer and fashion model, having posed for the likes of ASOS, Nike, GymShark and JD Sports.
Potential Love Islanders have until November 30, 2019, to apply for the new show but talks are currently going on with a raft of sexy singletons.
Will Caroline Flack be presenting?
Yes, Caroline Flack will continue to steer our young stars on the path to true love.
Like the summer version she’ll jet back and forth for the duration, which is rumoured to be six weeks long.
A telly source told The Sun's Bizarre: "Caroline is now synonymous with the show so it wouldn’t seem right to have anyone else hosting it. They’ll use the same production crew too so it should all run like clockwork."
Comedian Iain Stirling has confirmed he will be providing the voice over again. Great news!
