Matt Lauer‘s ex-wife, Annette Roque, has one regret in their 20-year marriage: not ditching the former “Today” host years before she did, according to report.
The Netherlands model, 52, has no remorse about her split from the one-time NBC star in the wake of his sexual assault scandal in 2017, sources told US Weekly.
Her only regret “is that she didn’t divorce Matt sooner,” an insider told the outlet.
Roque and the 61-year-old former anchor separated in 2017 and finalized their divorce last month.
But the couple reportedly faced challenges in their relationship from the start of their marriage.
“There were cracks in the marriage from very early on,” a source told the outlet. “Matt has always been a ladies’ man, and there were affairs in the beginning.”
Lauer’s rep didn’t respond to request for comment on the cheating allegations.
The former host has been in the headlines again after Ronan Farrow publicly identified Lauer’s accuser, Brooke Nevils, in his new book “Catch and Kill” for the first time.
Nevils was an NBC staffer when she filed a complaint at the network in 2017 about Lauer that led to his firing.
In Farrow’s new book, Nevils alleged that she had been anally raped by Lauer during a 2014 work trip to cover the Sochi Olympics.
Lauer has claimed his former coworker’s allegations are false and full of contradictions, saying their sexual encounters were consensual.
Roque’s lawyer also responded to the sexual assault allegations saying, “now that the parties are officially divorced, her priority and only concern is for their wonderful children,” People reported.
