When giving an update on her medical issue, the former ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ star reveals that she has to pep-talk herself into ‘staying alive’ while laying in the ambulance with her eyes closed.
AceShowbiz –Carly Waddell has shared an update on her medical issue. In a new video, the former “Bachelor in Paradise” star detailed her health scare after being rushed to the emergency room nearly a week ago.
On Sunday, June 20, the 35-year-old reality star shared a 15-minute video to explain the reasons why she was hospitalized on Monday, June 14. “Hello, everybody, I’m alive,” she began saying in the clip. “It was dicey there for a little bit. I joke, but it was.”
“I feel like I’ve told this story to my family, like, a million times already, but I know that you guys were wondering what happened to me on Monday,” Carly continued. She then recalled, “I was waiting in line for the plane [and] started having some really bad intestinal cramps. And when I say really bad, they were what I would compare to contractions. They were unbelievably bad.”
When describing the cramps, Carly explained that they “kept hitting and kept hitting and I couldn’t breathe.” As the pain got more intense, the ABC star told the viewers that she “got super, super hot and super, super nauseous and I stopped being able to see and I stopped being able to hear.”
Just before the plane took off, Carly stood up and ended up passing out. However, “The Bachelor” alum was caught by a passenger before hitting the ground and soon after she regained consciousness.
Carly then said the fire department arrived and transported her out of the airport in a wheelchair since she was unsure she could walk. Soon after seeing her blood pressure was “way too low” and dropping, they rushed her to the hospital.
“I could tell my body was giving out,” Carly continued. “And I had to talk myself, ‘This is not the way you go out.’ I was laying there with my eyes closed and pep-talking myself into staying alive.” Though it has been almost a week since she was hospitalized, she revealed that doctors “still don’t know what was going on.”
Carly elaborated, “They said it was probably a virus or bacteria that just got me and got me really good.” She added, “Ever since that day, I’m still having really bad intestinal cramps but they’re not like they were. But they’re not great. And randomly getting nauseous.”
Her estranged husband Evan Bass was the first to reveal that she had been hospitalized. “Carly’s first ambulance ride – she’s gonna be ok and, my goodness, this brings back some memories,” the TV personality captioned his post at the time, alongside a photo of Carly sleeping in an ambulance. “Thanks for all the prayers and support. After 9 hours we left the hospital but she’s still in pretty rough shape and may have to go back. Continued thoughts and prayers are so appreciated. And she knows she’s beloved.”
