Alex Kessel, an attorney for the ‘Respect My Crypn’ rapper, explains after a hearing at a Los Angeles court that video evidence has provided proof the police misidentified the 22-year-old.
AceShowbiz -Rapper Blueface will not be prosecuted in his felony gun case.
Earlier this year, the rapper, real name Jonathan Porter, who collaborated with Cardi B on a remix of his song “Thotiana”, found himself at the centre of several legal cases for the alleged possession of unregistered, loaded firearms in downtown Los Angeles, leaving him potentially facing years in jail.
However, the star appeared in court in Los Angeles on Wednesday (October 23) afternoon, where the case was tossed due to insufficient evidence.
The “Respect My Crypn” star’s attorney, Alex Kessel, told TMZ: “Video evidence demonstrated the police misidentified Blueface possessing a gun. Justice prevails through video evidence, a fair judge and a bulldog attorney.”
They added: “A rapper prevails on the merits of the case, not his celebrity status.”
Representatives from the Los Angeles Police Department previously claimed Blueface and several others scattered and tossed their guns when they saw cops arriving, however, the 22-year-old star insisted the allegation was untrue, alleging the cops in question had racial or ethnic prejudice.
