Dawn French heartbroken as Vicar of Dibley co-star Trevor Peacock, 89, dies ‘I love you’

The Vicar Of Dibley star Dawn French, 63, has shared a pictured of her with her co-star Trevor Peacock as she paid a heartfelt tribute to the late star today. The actress and Trevor appeared in high spirits as she beamed for the camera.

Trevor was also seen gazing over at Dawn with his arm around her.

In view of her 497,000 followers, she captioned the post with a broken heart emoji alongside the words: “Night Trev. I love you.”

Many of her fans flocked to her post to send their condolences.

One user wrote: “Really? so sad. He was so good & funny. RIP.”

A second commented: “I’m so sorry. He was amazing.”

“All I could say was no no no no no no!! So sad,” a third penned.

The actor – who played Jim Trott in the comedy series – died on March 8 from a dementia-related illness, his family said in a statement.

Trevor appeared in every episode of the BBC sitcom from 1994 to 2015.

Away from the show, he was also a Shakespearean actor and starred in multiple BBC productions including Titus Andronicus, Twelfth Night and Henry V.

As well as this, he wrote several pop hits and appeared with in the 1964 television special Around the Beatles.
