Doctor Who star David Tennant welcomes fifth child with wife Georgia

David Tennant and wife Georgia have welcomed their fifth child.

The actress, who met her husband while she appeared alongside him – as his genetically-engineered daughter – on Doctor Who, announced the news with a cheeky reference to his show Good Omens.

Georgia, 34, shared a snap of her husband, 48, leaving the hospital with their newborn in a carrier alongside a very similar image of David's co-star Michael with his daughter, who he welcomed last month.

She wrote: "An angel, a demon and a couple of babies. What could possibly go wrong?"

The funny joke played on their characters in the Amazon Prime Original Series.

David played a demon and Michael played an angel who were tasked with saving the world after accidentally mixing the Antichrist up with another baby.

Fans joined in the fun as they congratulated her, with one saying: "just check for little hoofywoofys"

And another joked: "prolly armageddon? nothing much meh"

David and Georgia are yet to reveal the gender of their newborn.

David announced the pregnancy news back in May during an appearance on US talk show The Late Late Show with James Corden.

James said: "David, we were just talking backstage, this is blowing my mind. You have four children already, your oldest is 17. You just told me you and your wife, the lovely Georgia, are expecting your fifth child."

The studio audience erupted into cheers and applause as David said: "Five is a lot."

The actor also joked that his eldest son Ty was giving them lectures on contraception.

Georgia is the daughter of former Doctor Who star Peter Davison.

She and David met when she starred alongside him in the sci-fi show in episode The Doctor's Daughter in 2008.

They married in 2011.

David said: "What’s really weird about it is we’re now getting lectures on birth control from our 17-year-old son. And that’s definitely meant to be the other way around.

"He’s like, 'Come on, do I need to teach you the basics?' It’s mental, five is a lot."

Dad-of-three James told him: "I have three children, and I already can’t keep up with the volume of birthdays. It’s always a child’s birthday."
