Dr. Jill Biden Sent Michelle Obama the Sweetest Gift

It's been a few years since Michelle Obama has been in the White House, but new first lady Dr. Jill Biden is giving her a reminder of her time in the People's House.

In a new Instagram post, Obama shared a gift from the first lady, a basket of fresh vegetables from the White House Kitchen Garden. According to Harper's Bazaar, during her time as the first lady, Obama oversaw a "massive renovation" of the gardens at the White House. Obama used the space for youth education and as an example of how important it was to have access to nutritious food and showcase sustainability.

"So thankful for this beautiful care package from our amazing @FLOTUS! These fresh veggies from the White House Kitchen Garden were such a wonderful — and delicious — surprise. Love you, Jill!" Obama wrote.

Dr. Biden left a comment, writing, "Food is love" and adding a green heart emoji.

Obama and Dr. Biden had a reunion during this year's presidential inauguration. Both wore bold, colored coats to the event in what many critics saw as a new chapter for American fashion. Obama championed emerging American designers, ushering in what would be known as the Michelle Obama Effect. Following Obama's example, Dr. Biden wore a dress by Alexandra O'Neill to the inauguration and Vice President Kamala Harris wore a look by Christopher John Rogers.

With Dr. Biden's reminder that the vegetable garden is doing just fine, it looks like some of the best parts of the Obama White House are still going strong.
