Fans spot hilarious exchange between Kate and Wills on BAFTAs red carpet

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were the guests of honour at the British Academy of Film and Television Awards last night as they joined a host of stars to celebrate the industry's biggest names.

The couple looked happy and relaxed as they walked the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall dressed in their glamorous frocks.

Fans were very excited to see Kate and Wills and one well-wisher managed to catch a hilarious moment between the royal parents.

Kate, who was dressed in a gold-embroidered Alexander McQueen gown, received a number of compliments as she walked into the stunning venue beside William, who was in a black tux.

A video from the event shows the Duchess thanking fans who were shouting about how beautiful she looked.

But William was almost ignored until one fan gave him a special shout out.

He shouted: "So do you Will!"

The Duke clearly found it hilarious and laughed, before replying: "That's nice, thank you".

Kate also found the comment funny, and could be seen looking over to her husband and smiling broadly before laughing along.

The video was shared on Twitter and fans can't get enough of the cute moment.

One wrote: "Absolutely great", and another said: "I love his response, such a beautiful couple".

The couple were at the celebrations as part of the Duke's role as President, a position he's held since 2010.

He gave a powerful speech during the evening, during which he commented on the lack of diversity.

He said: "Both here in the UK and in many other countries across the world we are lucky to have incredible film-makers, actors, producers, directors and technicians – men and women from all backgrounds and ethnicities enriching our lives through film.

"Yet in 2020, and not for the first time in the last few years, we find ourselves talking again about the need to do more to ensure diversity in the sector and in the awards process – that simply cannot be right in this day and age.

"I know that both Pippa (Harris), chair of BAFTA and Amanda (Berry), BAFTA CEO, share that frustration and continue to work tirelessly to ensure that creative talent is discovered and supported."
