Jake Wood has been photographed returning to filming for the popular soap opera EastEnders.

The 48 year old, who plays Max Branning on the BBC programme, was spotted pulling up at the gates of the set to take a mandatory temperature test in wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The actor, who recently flashed his impressive biceps as he went out for a run, could be seen wearing a khaki-coloured shirt alongside some silver-framed shades to protect his eyes from the glaring sun.

Jake appeared be in a chipper mood as he leaned over his incredible open-top bright red convertible Mini, which is worth an estimated £20,000.

The star, who recently hilariously responded to claims he looks like Love Island's Ollie Williams, was the one of the last soap personalities to return to set after EastEnders resumed filming new episodes last month following a brief halt in production.

During his time in lockdown, Jake has been working on physical fitness as he recently left fans in awe after posting a shirtless photo of himself.

Taking to Instagram to share the steamy snap with his 95,100 followers, Jake looked down at the camera and flexed his stomach to show off his rock hard abs.

The fair-skinned heartthrob captioned it: "Happy Tuesday everyone," with a sun emoji, before adding: "Stay positive x".

Fans were quick on the scene to gush over the TV star's sizzling picture as one person wrote: "You don’t get that Mr Sex God award every year for no reason do ya mate!" [sic] with a laughing face emoji.

Another said: "@mrjakewood Gorgeous guy! (More shirtless pictures please, Jake)," alongside a heart eyes emoji.

A third chimed: "Sexy as always," while a fourth commented: "Not a bad view," with a heart eyes emoji and a smirk emoji.

And a fifth questioned: "Are you naked?" with a monkey covering it's eyes and a laughing face emoji.

Jake keeps fit thanks to a disciplined routine of boxing training, which he's been doing since he was just a little child.

The star loves the sport to such an extent that he even has his own boxing podcast, called Pound For Pound, with former professional boxer Spencer Oliver, 45.

Speaking to The Sun, Jake, who is dad to lookalike daughter Amber, 15, and 12 year old son Buster, recently said he's looking to create a new show for celebrities to box live on TV.
