Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice star James Jordan, 42, has spoken out about his dad’s terrifying period of ill health. The star, who welcomed his first baby, Ella, with his wife Ola Jordan, 37, earlier this year went through a worrying time when his father, Allan, suffered a second stroke and battled COVID-19.

Fortunately, James’ dad is now recovering from the virus and his stroke at home.
Speaking alongside Ola in the couple’s latest Hello! Magazine column, James said: “He still has a long way to go but it’s a massive relief for the whole family.”
The professional dancer went on to admit Allan was on a ward where “people were dying next to him” in hospital.
James continued: “He was in hospital for nearly a month so it was tough.

“They decided he was better off at home, he was on a ward where people were dying next to him so it was pretty horrendous.
“I think mentally they wanted to get him out of there.”
James told the publication that he and Ola had FaceTimed his dad to check up on him.
The television personality explained that although Allan has been getting “very tired” during his recovery, that he seems “much happier” now.

James added: “He said he had a bacon sandwich today which was a treat because he said he hadn’t had one for a month.
“It’s great that he’s home – no one wants to be in hospital right now. It’s bad enough at the best of times.”
James took to Twitter to inform fans of the good news that his dad was sent home from hospital last week.
He wrote in view of his 272,000 followers: “Finally some good news for my family.

“Last night my dad was sent home as the doctors feel he will recover quicker.”
James then took the opportunity to thank the NHS staff who cared for him.
He continued: “He was in hospital for nearly 1 month and he wanted to say a massive thank you to Kayleigh, Ali, Isabelle and Jack who went above and beyond their job #Thankyou.”
Elsewhere, James got into a bit of trouble with his wife Ola when he made a big mistake in their kitchen.

“What have you done, James? What you done!?” she said, as he walked over with their daughter in his arms.
She light-heartedly raged in an Instagram video: “You left Coke [Cola] in the freezer, look it’s blown up. What you going to do about it?”
“Wow…” James replied, trying to speak quietly. “I blame you, Ella. Oh my god. Oh my god! It’s proper blown up,” he said on seeing the damage.
“Yeah it has,” Ola continued. “That’s what happens when you leave it in the freezer. God!
“Why do men act like children sometimes? Honestly, I could kill him right now.”
