Keke Palmer Defends Newborn Babys Unique Name After Fans Mock Her Choice

When introducing her baby boy to the world a couple of days earlier, the first-time mother said she chose Leodis Andrelton Jackson as his name because he’s ‘born during Black History Month,’ but it didn’t sit well with her fans.

AceShowbizKeke Palmer is clapping back at online haters. The new mom has defended her and boyfriend Darius Jackson’s newborn’s unique name after some social media critics mocked her choice.

The “Akeelah and the Bee” actress debuted her baby boy named Leodis Andrelton Jackson via Instagram on Monday, February 27. Shortly after, one Twitter user promptly poked fun at the infant’s moniker. “That name sound like it led a civil rights march,” the tweet read. In response, the 29-year-old doting mom replied, “It’s giving I marched with Martin [Luther King Jr.], purrrr.”

Prior to this, Keke said that she chose Leodis Andrelton Jackson as the name for her new bundle of joy as he’s “born during Black History Month.” Many of Keke’s followers praised her choice, calling it an “iconic” and “legendary” name with a “black excellence ring to it.” One social media user commented, “Keke said she building a dynasty with that name!” Another joked, “You gotta photoshop him into old pictures.”

When introducing her son to the world via her Instagram account, Keke treated her fans to the very first close-up look at her newborn baby. The “Nope” star also excitedly shared some family photos, featuring her baby daddy Darius.

In the first slide, Keke shared a snap of what the couple looks like after “only 48hrs of being parents!” In the next slide, she shared a video of herself singing “Someone” by El Debarge to Darius in the car after he included the track in some playlists for her when they started dating. “We became each other’s someone and made a someone, look at God!” she wrote.

Keke also shared some photos of their family of three in the hospital after welcoming baby Leo, including close-ups of their little one’s face. ” ‘I’m not hiding the world from my son, I’m hiding my son from the world.’ Hahaha,” she wrote, adding, “I’m just playing, my baby face is on this slide … And this slide.”
