Riverdale has turned its four leads into stars across the world. New Zealand-born actor KJ Apa was plucked from obscurity after he landed the role of Archie Andrews in Riverdale, which is adapted from the Archie Comics series. Since then, the young actor has built up a firm following of fans from around the globe who are eager to know more about him and his life away from the cameras.
Who is Riverdale star KJ Apa dating?
According to the New Zealand Herald, Apa is dating French model Clara Berry.
Multiple reports suggest the pair went Instagram official back in February when he shared a snap with Berry on his account.
One image showed the couple locking lips and the picture was captioned: “Coup de foudre” which means a sudden unforeseen event, in particular an instance of love at first sight.
Clara is a model who has done campaigns from the likes of Adidas and Fendi.
Apa is previously thought to have dated Tomorrowland actress Britt Robertson.
The Riverdale actor has spoken out in the past about his love life, saying in a video with WIRED he was “great” and “very much in love right now”.
In the same video, he also said he hoped to become a father one day.
He previously told Cosmopolitan: “I think I’m just waiting for the right time, right girl. I’m pretty busy at the moment.
“I don’t know how much I have to offer to someone right now.”
In the show, Apa’s character is dating Camila Mendes’ Veronica Lodge with the pair getting together in season one.
Archie and Veronica’s romance has seen some ups and downs during the seasons with the couple temporarily splitting after he went on the run with her father Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) trying to hunt him down.
Additionally, they seemed to have a major row in season four which led Archie to kiss his best friend Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart).
While Archie and Betty decided to just be friends, there was clearly something lingering between the two.
Riverdale’s showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has already confirmed this kiss is going to come back and haunt the four friends.
He told TV Line previously: “But definitely, there are major, major repercussions for what Betty and Archie did that go down at prom, in true teen drama fashion.
“So no, we haven’t seen the end of that story by a long shot.”
Season five is also going to feature a time jump of approximately five years, so this is likely to have an impact on the Core Four and their relationships.
The show looks like it’s going to be picking up after the characters come back to Riverdale with some of them taking time out for college.
This forthcoming series could feel like something of a reboot for the show and introduce new characters and dynamics.
