When I posted a photo of me in a sports bra on Instagram recently I was really flattered by the lovely comments I received.
Like most people, I indulged over Christmas and when Scott came back to the UK for a couple of weeks recently, we ate whatever we fancied together. But since he left last month, I’ve been on a fitness kick. I’ve been in the gym most days and if I can’t make it there, I have weights at home and I do a 40-minute workout.

Scott is really fit too so he’ll WhatsApp me circuit routines to do. I don’t feel guilty if I indulge with my diet or let my exercise routine ease up a bit. I know it’s easy to get back into a good routine and I’m careful about what I eat.
I feel like I’ve been on a diet for the past 20 years. But feeling healthy is so important to me. I’m in my early forties but I feel in fantastic shape. I think women feel more encouraged to work out in gyms and in my local gym, I often see women in their fifties or sixties.
Jennifer Lopez recently wowed audiences with her Super Bowl performance with Shakira. Her body is incredible and she’s 50. It just goes to show that fitness doesn’t have an age.
I heard that Piers Morgan had hit out at the performance by saying it was overly sexual and not empowering to females. I can see what he’s hinting at but to me, J.Lo looks amazing and is clearly confident and I think that is empowering for other women to see.
Emilie flew the nest
Last week proved to be emotional for me as my daughter Emilie moved out of my house with her son Teddy. Even though she only moved down the road, I was still in floods of tears. My house feels so quiet now and also looks so tidy! I’m used to kids’ TV blasting out from my screens and toys all over the floor.
I also went for a few exciting meetings recently and my lovely dad was kind enough to drive me from place to place. I can’t say what the meetings were about but I’m very happy with my career right now and looking forward to the future.
Love is to be celebrated
Stars of Dancing On Ice Kevin Kilbane and Brianne Delcourt got engaged last week after a reported two month romance. I don’t know either of them but each to their own.
I’ve been in relationships where it might have seemed to happen very quickly, and in hindsight it probably did, but it’s easy to get caught up in the moment. That being said, love is to be celebrated so I wish them all the best!
