Lea Michele seen for first time since claims over ‘traumatic’ Glee behaviour

Lea Michele has been seen in public for the first time since allegations surfaced over her behaviour on the set of Glee.

The actress – who played Rachel Berry on the show – recently came under fire after co-stars spoke out about her treatment of some colleagues.

Samantha Ware accused the 33-year-old of making her life a ‘living hell’ during the fourth season of the TV musical, with castmates Amber Riley and Heather Morris speaking out in support, while others offered up their own unpleasant experiences with the star.

She was also dropped from her partnership with HelloFresh, and eventually issued an apology.

Lea has kept a low profile since the allegations emerged, but was spotted out for the first time, along with husband Zandy Reich.

The pair were seen holding hands as they headed out for a walk together in LA.

She was spotted cradling her baby bump during the stroll, rocking a black crop top and leggings, paired with a blue patterned bandana.

While her beau, 37, also went for the casual look in a black t-shirt and grey shorts, adding a black baseball cap and sunglasses.

He also followed suit with a white bandana, tied around his neck.

Lea’s appearance comes after she issued an apology over Samantha’s accusations on Twitter, insisting that she never judged anyone by their skin colour.

The drama kicked off when Lea shared a message in support of Black Lives Matter, with her co-star left unimpressed.

’LMAO REMEMBER WHEN YOU MADE MY FIRST TELEVISION GIG A LIVING HELL?!?! CAUSE ILL NEVER FORGET,’ she posted on Twitter.

‘I BELIEVE YOU TOLD EVERYONE THAT IF TOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY YOU WOULD “S*** IN MY WIG!” AMONGST OTHER TRAUMATIC MICROAGRESSIONS THAT MADE ME QUESTION A CAREER IN HOLLYWOOD… [sic].’

In response to the backlash, Lea shared on Instagram: ‘One of the most important lessons of the last few weeks is that we need to take the time to listen and learn about other people’s perspectives and any role we have played or anything we can do to help address the injustices that they face.

‘When I tweeted the other day, it was meant to be a show of support for our friends and neighbours and communities of colour during this really difficult time, but the responses I received to what I posted have made me also focus specifically on how my own behaviour towards fellow cast members was perceived by them.

‘While I don’t remember ever making this specific statement and I have never judged others by their background or colour of their skin, that’s really not the point, what matters is that I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people.’

She continued: ‘Whether it was my privileged position and perspective that caused me to be perceived as insensitive or inappropriate at times or whether it was just my immaturity and me just being unnecessarily difficult, I apologise for my behaviour and for any pain which I have caused.

‘We can all grow and change and I have definitely used these past several months to reflect on my own shortcomings.

‘I am a couple of months from becoming a mother and I know I need to keep working to better myself and take responsibility for my actions, so that I can be a real role model for my child and so I can pass along my lessons and mistakes, so that they can learn from me.

‘I listened to these criticisms and I am learning and while I am very sorry, I will be better in the future from this experience.’
