But whilst she remains separated from her family, she recalled fond memories of her grandad which warmed her heart.

She continued to tell her 26.6 million followers: “I’m remembering him on my own, as a simple man from Ohio who loved his Cleveland sports teams and who fell asleep in front of the TV watching old western films.

“He was married to my grandma for 61 years and always called her ‘babe’, which I thought was the sweetest thing.”

The actress also added that the circumstances of the global pandemic kept her apart from him at the end.

“I wish I could’ve seen him one last time but I’ll forever hold him in my heart. Love you, grandpa.”

The post, which garnered over 1.5million likes, saw fans rush to the comments section to share their condolences with the actress and her family at this sad time.

One sent their love: “I’m so sorry for your loss. He seemed like a very special person! Sending love to you and your family.”

“Sorry for your loss, friend. I’m here if you ever need to talk. You know how to find me. Bless you and your family. Light and prayers,” a third commented.

Lili recently made a point of becoming more open when it comes to her emotions and feelings.

In September last year, she spoke to People about her policy of “openness”, after going through a lot of “changes” in her life.

“If I’m going through something — depression, anxiety, a breakup — I need to talk about it,” the actress admitted.

“I’ve gone through a lot of changes in my life.

“It’s been very interesting to see how many people are not living in a conscious, present state,” she added.
