Linda Evangelista on why she’s ‘not interested’ in dating again at 58: ‘I don’t want to hear somebody breathing’
Linda Evangelista has revealed that she is ‘not interested’ in dating again.
The 58-year-old supermodel, who has been married once before, admitted she did not ‘want to sleep with anybody anymore’ in a candid new interview with The Sunday Times.
The fashion industry star, who recently opened up about the drastic starvation diets she followed in her younger years, also quipped: ‘I don’t want to hear somebody breathing.’
Evangelista then stated that her last real relationship ended ‘definitely before the Cool-Sculpting,’ which she underwent from 2015 until 2016.
The model has since spoken out against the procedure, which has greatly affected her physique and her confidence in the past few years.
Over and done with: Linda Evangelista revealed that she was ‘not interested’ in dating during an interview with The Sunday Times; she is seen earlier this month
She also spoke about her marriage to Gerald Marie, which commenced in 1987.
The pair, who were separated by a 15-year age gap, remained together until 1993, when they formally dissolved their union.
Evangelista gave a bit of insight into her relationship with the former businessman, who has since been accused of sexual misconduct by several individuals.
‘I was clueless. Absolutely clueless…there had to be something endearing to fall for,’ she said.
The model also accused her former husband of physically abusing her during the Apple TV+ miniseries The Super Models, which premiered this past September.
She later became engaged to Kyle MacLachlan in 1995, and they went their separate ways three years later.
Evangelista dated former professional soccer player Fabien Barthez until 2002, and although the pair planned to start a family in 1999, the model tragically suffered a miscarriage.
The model later gave birth to a son named Augustin, 17, and shares her child with Francois-Henri Pinault, whom she dated for four months from 2005 until 2006.

Evangelista also received much attention for showing off her baby bump on the cover of Vogue’s August 2006 issue.
The fashion industry figure sued her former partner for child support in 2011, and the pair reached an out-of-court settlement the following year.
Pinault later moved on with Salma Hayek, and the pair went on to tie the knot in 2009.
Evangelista revealed that she has since ‘worked out’ the issues in her relationship with her former partner and his wife.
In the interview with The Sunday Times, Evangelista also discussed how she didn’t start exercising until she was almost 30 because her ‘crazy’ metabolism kept her catwalk ready.
The 58-year-old Canadian model began her career when she was 19 after being signed to Elite Model Management, moving to New York City for work.
Linda then went to Paris as her star began to shine, but quickly found she struggled to maintain her weight due to her fast metabolism burning through calories.
Speaking to Ruth Rogers on her ‘Ruthie’s Table 4’ podcast, the model opened up about her diet difficulties to The River Cafe restaurant owner
She said: ‘Back in the day, I could eat anything.’
Ruth then enquired about what sort of metabolism she had, to which Linda replied: ‘Crazy, crazy.’
Linda continued: ‘I think it started to slow down close to 30. I started working out when I was 27, 28, cos I was like, ‘Oh, things are a little different.’
‘And back then if you overindulged for too long if you cut back on everything for three days, you would drop five pounds.
‘Now, it is very easy to gain five pounds in a weekend.’
Linda emphasised that she was shocked to find her metabolism suddenly changed as she got older, and revealed the dietary tactics she would use to stay in shape.
She said: ‘I had to work on keeping the weight on. And then there became a period where I had to really watch and I started doing cleansers all the time, and I loved doing these cleansers, but I think they were very harmful to me.
‘I would do like medicinal cleansers where it is like a powdered drink, or I would go to We Care once or twice a year for a week [Palm Springs].
‘You just do liquids, it’s mostly waters with lemon and mint and teas and you get a glass of juice a day, and you get a very diluted, watered down vegetable once a day called a soup.’
Linda then revealed that she now allows herself to eat whatever she wants, as long as it is ‘the best’ quality and doesn’t affect her weight.
She said: ‘If I’m going to eat pasta, that’s like an indulgence for me, cos I try and watch my weight and be healthy. I always have. If I’m going to eat pasta, it’s got to be great.
‘If I’m going to eat a steak, I mean I eat everything, it can’t be a crappy steak. It has to be, like, the best steak.’
