Lisa Rinna reveals why daughter Amelia Hamlin dumped Scott Disick
Lisa Rinna has some thoughts on what caused her daughter, Amelia Hamlin, to break up with Scott Disick in September. Namely, she thinks it “didn’t help” that while Scott was dating Amelia, he was caught griping in a leaked DM about a photo of his ex, Kourtney Kardashian, making out with Travis Barker, to whom she’s now engaged. Lisa shared her new insights on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” reunion show on Oct. 20, where Andy Cohen asked if the DM leak contributed to Amelia and Scott’s split. “Well, I don’t think that was helpful,” Lisa said, per Page Six. “There’s never one reason why I think people split up, you know,” she added. “Now’s the time to heal, now’s the time for everyone to heal.” Scott, 38, was first romantically linked to Amelia, 20, in October 2020. They split in September. According to Lisa, ending the relationship was a decision Amelia “made on her own.”

Kate Beckinsale says her super-high IQ may be a ‘handicap’ in Hollywood
From Kate Beckinsale’s perspective, brains only get you so far in Hollywood. And she would know — Kate’s IQ technically makes her a genius, as we learned from her appearance on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM radio show this week. The 48-year-old star, who also happens to be an Oxford alum and fluent in Russian, called her mom at one point on the show when Howard pressed her on her IQ score. She brushed it off, saying she tested “very high” as a kid. When Howard wanted the exact number — genius reportedly begins around 140 — Kate texted her mom to ask her score. “They tested me when I was young, so I mean I’m sure I’ve burned a few brain cells by now,” she quipped, per People. Finally, Kate called her mom, who said her IQ was 152. “I wish I had an IQ of 152,” Howard said. But Kate assured him it wasn’t ideal in all cases. “Every single doctor, every single person I’ve ever come across has said, ‘You’d be so much happier if you were 30 percent less smart,'” she explained. “It’s no good to me, though. It’s really not helpful to me in my career. I just think it might have been a handicap actually.” Asked if being that smart helps when it comes to dating, Kate mused: “I’ve always found I can forgive an awful lot if somebody’s funny. So, there’s a certain degree of intelligence in somebody funny that I’m able to mess with.”

Britney Spears goes house shopping with fiance as dad hires new lawyer
Britney Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, reportedly has a new lawyer in the wake of his suspension from his daughter’s long-running conservatorship. According to Fox News, Vivian L. Thoreen and Geraldinne A. Wyle, who represented Jamie as he struggled to maintain control of his daughter’s multi-million dollar estate, are out as Jamie’s counsel and Los Angeles based attorney Alex M. Weingarten is in. The change comes after Judge Brenda Penny ruled Jamie handling Britney’s finances is not a “tenable” situation, given the distress it’s caused for the singer. Fox reports there are whispers Jamie may have replaced his counsel because of a vow made by Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, to investigate Jamie’s potential “mishandling” of his daughter’s estate. Amid that churn of legal maneuvers, meanwhile, Britney’s been enjoying her slow but steady progress towards freedom. On Oct. 19, she and her fiancé, Sam Asghari, were spotted checking out a $16.5 million mansion in the Hidden Hills section of Los Angeles, according to the Daily Mail. They’re reportedly in the market to buy a place of their own, though it’s unclear if they were interested in the massive, seven bedroom, 13 bathroom estate they looked at this week. Earlier this month, following allegations Jamie was spying on his daughter in her current home, the singer’s lawyer reportedly had military security experts sweep the pad in search of possible listening devices.

Blake Lively has had it with paparazzi who follow and photograph the children she shares with husband Ryan Reynolds. This week, the actress, 34, slammed the Instagram account Hollywood Star Kids after spotting a photo they ran of her and Ryan walking with their daughters, James, 6, Inez, 5, and Betty, 2. “This is so disturbing,” she wrote in the comments on the post, which has since been deleted, according to E! News. “I’ve personally shared with you that these men stalk and harass my children. And you are still posting. You said you would stop. You personally promised me.” Blake added, “This is not casual appreciation. This is YOU also exploiting very young children. Please. Delete. Please. Some parents are ok with this. We. Are. NOT.” Blake and Ryan, 44, have previously urged publications not to share paparazzi pics of their kids, explaining when it happened in 2018 that the images in question “were taken by a man hiding outside of a private party, which is disturbing on many levels.” In July 2021, when more photos of her with the girls surfaced online, she responded with a message pointing out that the pics had been edited “to look like I’m happily waving” at the photographer, when she felt he had “stalked” her children “all day, jumping out … then hiding” to take more shots. This week, she also thanked Instagram users who supported accounts that respect kids’ safety. “Thank you to everyone UNFOLLOWING accounts who exploit children,” she wrote on her IG Story. “YOU make ALL the difference. Thank you for your integrity. Thank you.”
Simone Biles admits she’s still ‘scared to do gymnastics’
Olympic gymnast Simone Biles is still “scared to do gymnastics” in the wake of the “twisties” she suffered at the Tokyo Olympics that forced her to pull out of most events. In an appearance on “Today” on Oct. 21, Simone, 24, said she gets “so much joy” from touring on the current Gold Over America Tour, but she’s not doing the moves she normally might. “I don’t twist. I do double half layouts, which is my signature move on floor that has never affected me. But everything else just weighs so heavy,” she admitted, per ET. The “twisties,” as gymnasts call them, are an anxiety response in which the brain can’t calculate how to land correctly, rendering many of Simone’s famous moves potentially fatal if not career ending. “I watch the girls do it, and it’s just not the same,” she said. “To do something that I’ve done forever and just not be able to do it because of everything I’ve gone through is really crazy, because I love this sport so much. It’s hard. I don’t think people understand the magnitude of what I go through.” Still, Simone’s doing much “better,” she said, thanks to getting therapy. “The twisting will come back, but I’m still scared to do gymnastics,” she said.

Miley Cyrus — grinning, with her eyes closed and wearing nada on the top half of her bod — stars on the Fall 2021 cover of Interview magazine. Her accompanying interview is equally revealing, albeit more in terms of how she connected with her “inner rock star,” during the pandemic. Part of that identity, Miley explains, is finally being able to sing in her naturally deep voice after years of being criticized for sounding “like a man.” Chatting with Lars Ulrich about her contribution to Metallica’s new “Blacklist” tribute album, Miley recalls recording their hit, “Nothing Else Matters,” in her home studio. “There was nothing that I couldn’t try, because I wasn’t in front of 250,000 people,” she says, adding that it’s “so satisfying” to hit “super-low” octaves like the ones on that track. “My whole life … it’s always been about, ‘Why do you sound like a man? Where’s your f****** falsetto …,” she continues. “My voice is how I represent myself. It’s how I express myself. I’ve worked with so many people who tell me, ‘We’re going to have to bring in a singer to hit those high parts.'” She adds, “You know, ‘falsetto’ is this Latin term for when a boy goes through puberty, but they still want him to sing in the choir. It means ‘false.‘ I don’t have a false voice. … I am who I am. I say what I mean in the moment, even if that changes tomorrow.” Miley concludes she was “honored” to be able to sing the Metallica song the way she wanted to, not “the way that females are ‘supposed’ to sing.”
Olivia Newton-John bonds with Hoda Kotb amid stage 4 cancer battle
Olivia Newton-John and Hoda Kotb shared a moment of bonding on the Oct. 20 edition of “Today,” during a conversation about Olivia’s stage 4 cancer fight. Hoda acknowledged that she, too, has battled breast cancer, which surprised Olivia. “I’m really sorry you went through that. I didn’t know that about you,” said the singer. “So you’re well now, you’re doing good?” Hoda replied, “Yes, I’m doing good,” then took a moment to collect her emotions. “By the way, I’m just going to pause for a second. Another wonderful thing about you is what you just did there. Thank you. Thank you for asking,” she said. Olivia replied, “of course,” and pointed out that the experience makes them “sisters,” telling Hoda and the audience, “Anyone that has gone on this journey with cancer, it’s unknown destinations and surprises and turns.” Olivia, who’s celebrating the 40th anniversary of her hit, “Physical,” was first diagnosed with cancer in 1992, followed by diagnoses in 2017 and 2018. “I have my days, I have my pains,” she told Hoda, “but the cannabis that my husband grows for me has been such a huge part of my healing, and so I’m a really lucky person.”
