Country music duo Maddie & Tae have teamed up with pop trio Avenue Beat to cover Harry Styles‘ “Watermelon Sugar.”
They transformed the song into country ballad laden with harmonies.
“Strawberries on a summer evenin’/ Baby, you’re the end of June/ I want your belly and that summer feelin’/ Getting washed away in you,” sing Maddie Marlow and Avenue Beat’s Savana Santos, with Tae Dye, Sami Bearden, and Sam Backoff providing the harmonies, supported by acoustic guitar strums and wisps of pedal steel guitar.
Maddie and Tae have also released a stripped-down version of “Everywhere I’m Goin’,” a single from their 2020 album, The Way It Feels.
