Melania Trump’s Former Friend Calls Her an ‘Enabler’

Melania Trump‘s former friend and adviser Stephanie Winston Wolkoff is calling out the First Lady’s response to the attempted coup at Capitol Hill.

In an interview with CNN’s Brianna Keilar on Monday (January 11), Stephanie said she found Melania‘s statement after last week’s riots underwhelming.

“This isn’t the only complicit event that’s occurred throughout these four years,” Stephanie said. “Melania Trump has a voice and she hasn’t used it. She has a platform, she hasn’t used it. As the First Lady of the United States of America … you have the ability to speak loudly, clearly, and for the rest of Americans.”

She continued: “She is not just complicit, she is his enabler. And she’s [Trump‘s] biggest cheerleader and unfortunately she’s done nothing but that.”

Melania made her first statement five days after the events at Capitol Hill and did not address her husband’s role in inciting the violence.

“I implore people to stop the violence, never make assumptions based on the color of a person’s skin or use differing political ideologies as a basis for aggression and viciousness,” she wrote. “We must listen to one another, focus on what unites us, and rise above what divides us.”

In September, Stephanie released “Melania and Me”, a tell-all book detailing her relationship with the first lady – click here to find out how Melania reacted.
