Michael Jackson died at the age of 50 after going into cardiac arrest at his mansion in Los Angeles. At the time, his death dominated news around the world and shocked many devoted fans.
When did Michael Jackson die?
Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009 with last year being the tenth-year anniversary since the king of pops death.
His death came prior to his scheduled ‘This Is It’ concerts- which included 10 shows at the O2 arena in London starting on June 9, 2009.
On the night before his death, the singer had been rehearsing past midnight.

Jackson’s personal physician Conrad Murray reported Jackson returned to his home in Los Angeles at around one in the morning.
Murray then stated that over the next few hours into the early morning he administrated a series of drugs into the singer’s system to help Jackson sleep.
Murray alleges at one point the singer said: “Just make me sleep, no matter what.”
Murray is said to have left the singers bedroom for two minutes but when he returned, he says he found Jackson not to be breathing.
The singer’s physician Murray then testifies that for five to 10 minutes he attempted to revive Jackson before calling for help.
Paramedics are said to then arrive at Jackson’s mansion at 12.26pm, five minutes after a call emergency call was made.
On arrival it is alleged the paramedics found Jackson to still not be breathing.
They then performed CPR on the singer for 42 minutes before he was sent to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical centre at 1.14pm.

Jackson’s family after hearing of his unexpected death said: “Our beloved son, brother, uncle and father of three children has gone so unexpectedly, in such a tragic way and much too soon.
“It leaves us, his family, speechless and devastated to a point, where communication with the outside world seems almost impossible at times.”
Conrad Murray was later convicted of Involuntary Manslaughter for administering the singer anaesthetic drugs to get Jackson to sleep without being qualified.
He received the maximum penalty of four years in prison, and after serving two years, Murray was released on parole on October 28, 2013.
An autopsy was performed on the King of Pop’s body which found he had died from a lethal combination of drugs with Propofol and Lorazepam listed as the primary substances.
