Sir Anthony Hopkins has managed to keep up spirits during his coronavirus self-isolation, by playing the piano for his cat.
The 82-year-old is isolating himself in line with NHS guidelines, which warns anyone that over the age of 70 is particularly at risk of infection from COVID-19.
But he has refused to let the situation get him down.
In a heartwarming video shared to his Twitter, the Hannibal Lecter actor is seen sitting at his piano with his cat sitting on his lap.
He starts tickling the ivories which seems to delight his cat Niblo, who blissfully turns around to look into his eyes.
The feline purrs his appreciation as Sir Anthony smiles for the camera.
In the caption to his post yesterday, the actor comically wrote: “Niblo is making sure I stay healthy and demands I entertain him in exchange… cats.”
It has been seen more than 3million times, with thousands of viewers revelling in the cute footage.
“Niblo is a very lucky cat,” one commented.
Another wrote: “You can hear your cat purring so cute.”
A third commented: “This man is a genius and inspiration. I've been moved by his performances over the years.”
Sir Anthony is just one of a throng of celebrities affected by COVID-19 since it was first contracted in Wuhan, China.
Luther star Idris Elba and Hollywood legend Tom Hanks recently revealed they had tested positive for the disease.
Meanwhile, the BBC has been forced to cut EastEnders’ weekly programming in half to only air two episodes.
The likes of The Only Way is Essex and hit drama Line of Duty have also stopped filming.
