Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia Unleash Wedding Pics From Traditional Nigerian Ceremony

The ‘RHOA’ alum and her fiance have officially tied the knot in a traditional Nigerian native law and custom ceremony in Atlanta and will have a second American ceremony on Saturday.

AceShowbizPorsha Williams and Simon Guobadia are officially married now. The couple tied the knot on Friday, November 25 in a traditional Nigerian native law and custom ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta in front of 250 guests, which will be followed up with a second American ceremony on Saturday.

Confirming the news, PEOPLE has obtained official pictures from the traditional ceremony. In the images, Porsha looked glamorous in a red gown by designer Lakimmy customary for an Edo bride (Simon is from Benin City in the Edo State of Nigeria). She also wore an okuku, a headpiece with Benin coral beads.

As for Simon, he wore a white kaftan and matching pants while accessorizing with coral beads, similar to the ones worn by Porsha.

“I am ridiculously excited,” Porsha told the outlet ahead of the nuptials. “I am just so ready. I’m not even nervous. I mean, I know I’m marrying the love of my life, and it’s just going to solidify our relationship and our family bond. I’m calm and excited.”

Simon admitted he was a “little nervous,” but not for the reason one may think. “When you say you’re a little nervous, and you’re about to walk down the aisle, people are thinking, ‘Uh-oh,’ ” he explained. “But my nervousness comes from the family members and friends who I haven’t seen in a long time coming into Atlanta!”

Porsha was “anxious” about the seven wardrobe changes she’ll be making over the course of two days. “It’s going to be a true fashion extravaganza,” she said with a laugh. “I just couldn’t turn any dresses down! If a wedding dress came my way, and I loved it, I got it.”

On the day of the Nigerian wedding, Porsha had three outfit changes. After wearing the red dress for the ceremony, she later changed into two gowns by designer Tabik, one in royal blue and one in gold.

Guests were also asked to wear traditional or formal Nigerian-inspired attire in the colors of the day, purple and teal. Porsha’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star Monique Samuels followed the dress code as she was seen wearing a blue dress with a gold headpiece in an Instagram video to congratulate the couple on their wedding. She was joined by her husband Chris Samuels, who also rocked a traditional Nigerian outfit in teal.

“What a celebration! Repping my 35% as we celebrated the Guobadias’ today!” she gushed about Porsha and Simon’s nuptials in the caption. “Congrats to my sis @porsha4real and Simon!!!! Love you both! May God bless and watch over your union. You certainly could feel the love today.”

The ceremony was led by a spokesperson from each side of the couple’s family and featured performances of traditional Benin singers and dancers. To make the guests feel like they were in Nigeria, the whole room was “transformed with beautiful colors of browns and rose golds and tans and creams,” Porsha detailed. “The other thing I wanted was trees in the room. I want it to feel like an inside/outside space, but luxurious.”

The guests were also treated to traditional Benin foods like snails, egusi, meat pies and okra stew from the local restaurant Little Lagos. To represent Porsha’s southern roots, they also had fried lobster, steak and cornbread. As for the cake, they had a traditional Benin cake.
