Sarah Ferguson & Prince Andrew dont seem to have any plans to remarry right now

Before Prince Andrew’s years-long involvement with Jeffrey Epstein reemerged around Epstein’s 2019 arrest, one of the big stories around Andrew for years was “will Andrew and Fergie remarry.” I can see now that Andrew and Fergie both wanted those stories out there, and that their “will-they-or-won’t-they remarry” conversation hid a multitude of sins. Still, the storyline in 2016-18 was “Fergie and Andrew will remarry when Prince Philip dies.” The theory being that Philip absolutely loathed Fergie and refused to acknowledge her. So will it finally happen? Nowadays, Sarah Ferguson is desperate to distract from the Epstein stories, so I imagine that’s why this old chestnut got dusted off:

Sarah, Duchess of York has opened up about her unique relationship with former husband Prince Andrew and addressed rumours that the pair are set to remarry. Sarah and Andrew split in 1992 and divorced in 1996 but continue to live at Royal Lodge in Windsor together. Their close friendship and living situation has meant the former couple has been plagued by rumours that they will one day reunite romantically – something Sarah appears to have not ruled out.

“All I can say is that we’re happy with the way we are right now,” she teased when quizzed about their relationship in an interview with The Telegraph.

“We always say we are the most contented divorced couple in the world. We’re divorced to each other, not from each other,” she added. “We are co-parents who support each other and believe that family is everything. I’m proud of the job we have done together in bringing up our children and sustaining a strong family unit. Our bywords are communication, compromise and compassion.”

While Sarah may be happy with their current situation “right now”, she is still single and admitted she finds the idea of dating during a pandemic a “nightmare”.

“I will say this: I feel very sorry for young people trying to date during this pandemic. It must be a nightmare! In answer to your question, there’s no one in my life,” she said when quizzed on her love life.

I’ll admit that I’m genuinely interested in whether they will remarry now that Philip is gone. We heard for so many years that Philip’s “still alive” status was the only thing keeping them from a remarriage. Now it seems more likely that they would want to remarry so that they couldn’t be made to testify against each other in any and all future criminal and civil trials! And yes, it’s still kind of crazy that they live together at Royal Lodge still, after all these years. By the way, what in the world is happening with that Swiss ski chalet that Andrew bought and Fergie was using for a time, and then the previous owner sued Andrew for failing to make his annual payment?
