Strictlys Dianne Buswell meets Amy Dowdens family and makes sweet comparison

Dianne Buswell has shared a charming snap with Amy Dowden and her family on social media. The trio were present in the audience for the dancer’s latest performance with Bobby Brazier.

On Thursday, Dianne, 34, took to Instagram and posted a photograph of Richard and Gillian Dowden, alongside their daughter, Amy, 33. The Strictly Come Dancing star’s parents beamed as they posed with the Australian dancer and their daughter.

In the caption, the pro-dancer wrote to her 983,000 followers: “It was so lovely or should I say lush to have Amy’s mum and dad in the audience for the semi-finals! Amy’s dad reminds me so much of my own.

“And Amy’s mum is just the sweetest. I loves them I do,” she added, followed by a smiley face emoji and the flag of Wales. In the comment section, Gillian wrote: “Lovely being there Diane.

“You and Bobby were amazing. Good luck for Saturday. Can’t wait to see what you have planned. Sending lots of love.” Richard shared similar sentiments and typed: “It was fabulous to be there Dianne and seeing you and Bobby going through to the final.

“Wishing you the best of luck for Saturday. Lots of love from all the Dowden family,” he concluded.

Elsewhere, one of the dancer’s social media fans wrote: “Wishing you the best of luck for Saturday. Lots of love from all the Dowden family. Your friendship is a lovely thing.”

A second said: “So proud of you and Bobby, Dianne you have both worked so hard to get where you are today. So glad to see Amy such a brave young lady and an inspiration to all, and a fantastic dancer we mustn’t forget that.”

Dianne’s latest post comes just weeks after she revealed her father, Mark, had begun his first round of chemotherapy in Australia.

On November 16, the Strictly star posted a photograph to Instagram of her father lying in a hospital bed while waving to the camera.

In the caption, the dancer explained that she “wished” she could be in the country to hold her dad’s hand and “support” him in person.

“But I do know that I’m making you so proud over here in my concert every week,” she continued.

“The Australian nurses and (sic) doctors are now very aware of Strictly Come Dancing as my dad won’t stop talking about it. You can do this Daddy.”

In her latest update regarding Mark, Dianne thanked her father for “always supporting” her.

“It can be a very guilty and selfish feeling leaving family to follow your dreams but you always make me feel like I’m doing the right thing because of your love and support,” she added.

On Saturday, Dianne will take to the BBC ballroom for the last time this season with Bobby, 20, to perform three final dances.

For their judge’s pick, the pair will re-dance their Samba to ‘Young Hearts Run Free’ by Candi Staton.

The EastEnders actor and his professional partner will also perform a Show Dance to a La La Land Medley, and a Couple’s Choice to ‘This Woman’s Work’ by Maxwell.

Tune in to the Strictly Come Dancing final this Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
