Claiming that she’s not perfect, the ‘Love and Hip Hop: Miami’ star says, ‘Please don’t allow my delivery to confuse my stance on equality on justice, which is essential for all people.’
AceShowbiz –Trina has issued another apology after being criticized for her “animals” comments on Black Lives Matter movement protesters. Through an Instagram post on Friday, June 5, the “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” star showed remorse for calling violent protesters “animals” for looting shops.
“This week felt like an out of body experience. I am a roller coaster of emotion, brought on by the events of the world we all live in. These are times of great tumult and trauma,” she wrote. Claiming that she’s not perfect, she added, “I’ve fallen short. I’ve been racially profiled, and I’ve had trouble articulating my emotions in the face of personal frustration.”
She continued, “I don’t want my people to question if I stand with them. I do. I bleed the same blood, I feel exactly what you feel. Please don’t allow my delivery to confuse my stance on equality on justice, which is essential for all people.”
The Miami star added that “I take full responsibility for my auction, and for any confusion that I might have caused regarding my feelings on what we’re all dealing with right now. When I said what I said, I was acutely upset with those who are using the peaceful demonstration as a vehicle for their own intentions. There is never an excuse for evil in these trying times.”
“This is incredibly personal for me. I remember when Arthur McDuffie was killed by police, and the riots that gripped Overtown and Miami as a whole. I was just a kid, living with my family, and it stayed with me. It’s just as real now as it was forty years ago,” she explained.
Concluding her message, Trina wrote, “From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely apologize fro any grief I have caused. I live my life on the values of respect and regard for all people, and I will continue to do so. None of us are perfect, but thank God, we have the ability to reflect, dissect, and begin anew.”
Prior to this, Trina explained herself in the Thursday, June 4 episode of Trick Daddy and her 99 Jamz Radio. “Me, in my Trina’s world, I’m automatically speaking for black people,” Trina clarified. “I am black people, that’s who I’m speaking for, so I’m not gonna say ‘black people are animals.’ I’m not talking to the protesters or those that are trying to make change.”
Of why she called the protesters “animals,” the raptress said, “I would never say that, or call black people animals or any names. I am a black person, I must be an animal, I must be this same person. I mean, that’s not who I am.”
Trina angered people when she called out looters. “Keep everybody off the street, these animals off the streets, that are running around in Miami-Dade County acting like they have escaped from a zoo. Lock them up at 5 P.M. so the streets can be nice and clean, that’s how I feel,” she said.
