Ulrika Jonsson slams ‘toxic’ Phillip Schofield as she backs Kerry Katona in feud

TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson has supported her pal Kerry Katona as she shared her opinion on Phillip Schofield’s recent interview.

Speaking a week after admitting an affair with a younger man who worked on This Morning, Phillip revealed on Thursday that he has been struggling mentally and is “utterly broken” amid the turmoil.

The star gave two huge interviews, one with the Sun and another with the BBC, and said in the first: “If it hadn’t been for my [daughters] last week I wouldn’t be here."

Kerry Katona, 42, who has issues with Phil due to how he treated her during an interview in 2008, shared her thoughts on the interview online.

The reality star wrote on Instagram: “This is exactly how I felt after the interview he did with me! If I didn’t have my children I’d have killed myself."

“Things need to change drastically at ITV!! Nobody reach out to me after the interview or asked me what bipolar was, or what medication I was on," she continued.

“4 people from Love Island have killed themselves, including Caroline Flack! To EVERYONE who’s is involved with this I really hope that they are ALL getting the right support!!!”

Ulrika backed her friend as she commented: “It’s all about him…. What about his poor wife in all this”, followed by the hashtags “arrogant” and “toxic”.

Kerry spoke to Dan Wootton on GB News on Wednesday where she recalled the famous interview with Phillip, noting how the chat left her feeling suicidal and belittled.

The interview, which happened 15 years ago, saw Phillip asking Kerry about her slurred speech and saying: "You don't seem right to me sitting here now, your speech is a bit slurred, how are you feeling now?

"Our phone is already going off up in the gallery from people asking is she ok.

"We are merely pointing out someone who is very different from a few years ago."

She told him at the time that her bipolar medication had an impact on how she spoke and she insisted in the interview that she was 'absolutely fine.'

She said on Wednesday night: "People don't understand what that interview did to me emotionally.

"Even now, when I go back to ITV – which isn't very often – there is a sense of snobbery and that I'm not good enough. I feel like I have to impress them, I've got to watch my speech, I can't slur."

Kerry also alleged that no one from ITV spoke to her after the interview or checked if she was okay.
