Suit & Tie
Back in 1969, Jackie wore this look to visit a restaurant in Chinatown and it’s just as fashionable today, if not more! The former First Lady paired a white collared shirt with a navy tie and a black blazer-inspired dress. To complete the look, Jackie cinched in her waist with a matching black belt with a gold buckle.
Keeping It Monochrome
Much like Kate Middleton’s style, Jackie also loved to wear monochromatic looks. In this outfit, for example, she paired a heathered navy coat with a matching silk skirt underneath.
Dress to Impress
Who said colder weather meant the end of dresses? Jackie proved she could still rock a leg-baring look in this chic peplum dress with gold buttons. To protect herself from the cold, she paired the look with black tights and ballet flats.
Sticking to Classics
Speaking of protecting from the cold, Jackie knew the one rule of layering: sticking to basics. In the 1969, she’s seen effortlessly rocking a classic black turtleneck. A classic for a reason!
All in the Accessories
And although owning some basics were important for Jackie, like this black turtleneck and navy jacket, she would often bring in some accessories to make the look her own. In the 1970 outfit, for example, the leather gloves and brown-tinted sunglasses really elevate the ensemble.
Open to Color
Like many of us, it might be easy to resort back to all-black outfits when it comes to going back to layering. But, as seen in this brown coat from Jackie, there’s no reason to steer clear of color just because the temperature is lower.
Loving Leather
In her closet, Jackie had surely a number of different coats to choose from. In the fall, she’d often rock her leather coats including this one. How cool does she look here?
In the Trenches
In addition to her leather coats, Jackie would also often rock trench coats in the fall. In many ways, the coat is perfect for the mild weather, not too hot and not too cold.
Accessories Galore
In this shot of hers, Jackie is looking like a true movie star by simply tying her scarf around her face. Easy yet to effective!
Always Matching
When she wasn’t pairing her tights with dresses, Jackie could also be seen wearing them with matching two-piece sets, including this tweed one with gold buttons. A simple way to create an outfit: buy it in a set!
All in a Vest
Vests are making a comeback this year and, of course, Jackie knew it was stylish way before. In this photo, for exaple, her tailored vest matches her pants while her blouse brings the look some femininity.
