Abbott Elementary Swaps Teaching For Tech in Exclusive Clip

If you haven’t tuned in to ABC’s Abbott Elementary yet, you must be living under a rock. From the creative mind of Quinta Brunson comes a witty workplace comedy set at a public school in the heart of inner-city Philadelphia. Abbott Elementary is only three episodes into its first season, but viewers already can’t get enough of it.

Before its fourth episode, titled “New Tech,” premieres on Tuesday, Jan. 18, we have an exclusive sneak peek of what to expect from the funny sitcom. In the clip above, Abbott “HBIC” Principal Ava (played by comedian Janelle James) introduces a new computer program to the grade school teachers, but it’s met with some less-than enthusiastic feedback. “I, for one, prefer the tried-and-true methods over whatever the latest doo-hickey is,” says Barbara (played Sheryl Lee Ralph) in the sneak peek.

The new series, which debuted on ABC on Dec. 7, is shot mockumentary style with a hilarious ensemble cast — which includes Brunson, James, Lee Ralph, Tyler James Williams, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, and William Stanford Davis — who all know how to pack the funny in every scene. The show has been met with so much praise, viewers on social media are already calling for the series to be renewed for several more seasons. Check out what all the hype is about in the exclusive clip of Abbott Elementary above.
