ASICS Takes Deconstructed Approach For Newest GEL-PTG RE "Re-Construction"

The ASICS lifestyle sector has taken the initiative in this early half of 2021 to unlade many a new iterations. And after recently introducing the “Sunrise Red” NOVABLAST and the Metaride AMU with Kengo Kuma, the Japanese sportswear entity is introducing the GEL-PTG RE “Re-Construction” in a duo of colorways.

Its design is predicated on the classic GEL-PTG coat-style silhouette, but features various cues that speak to the deconstructed sneaker trend. These can be spotted out by the added overlays which neighbor the throat and position themselves at a slanted angle, the exposed stitching across the foam-y tongue and the angular overlays that rest towards the heels. Another added element for these “Re-Contruction” colorways is the multi-toned lace dubraes that sit at the bottom of the throat. Elsewhere, the constructions are clean and classic between perforated leathers and suede overlays.

Two makeups are involved in this inaugural drop including a white with red and blue trim underneath the tiger stripes in addition to a white with black ASICS logos.

Both variations are available for purchase now through select retailers like atmos Japan for ¥14,000 (approx. $133 USD) a pop.

In case you missed it, the ASICS GEL-Preleus just released in “Aizuri Blue” and “Camel Beige” colorways.
