CD Projekt Red is Asking Players to Stop Having Sex with Keanu Reeves in 'Cyberpunk 2077'

CD Projekt Red has now taken down a fan-made mod that allows your character to have sex with Keanu Reeves‘ Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077.

Since the game’s launch, many players have come to create mods for its different features, ranging from changing the game’s UI and mini-map to weather conditions, but it didn’t take long until modders arrived at the more risque parts of the game, involving NPCs as sex workers, or what it calls “joytoys.” Some players took this mod and proceeded to swap out various NPC models with Johnny Silverhand’s, allowing them to sleep with Reeves’ character himself. Naturally, CD Projekt Red was not very happy with it and has since taken down the mod.

“Our most important rule regarding user-generated content, game mods in particular, is that it can’t be harmful towards others,” CD Projekt Red wrote in a statement to PC Gamer. “In the case of model swaps, especially those that involve explicit situations, it can be perceived as such by the people who lent us their appearance for the purpose of creating characters in Cyberpunk 2077.”

The company continued to say that as inventors of the game they’ll “broadly permit you to teak the game at will and just have fun,” but modders should refrain from using models of any real people in potentially offensive ways without their explicit permission.

Elsewhere in gaming, a Fortnite dataminer has released a heatmap indicating where the most deaths occur on the game map.
