Daniel Arsham Announces Release of First NFT in Partnership With Six N. Five

Known for his eroded classical sculptures made of plaster and crystals, Daniel Arsham hops on the digital wave as he announces the release of his first NFT in collaboration with Barcelona-based studio Six N. Five.

Arsham along with Six N. Five created a digital version of an ever-changing seasonal environment surrounding a sculpture from his recent exhibition held at Galerie Perrotin New York. The NFT entitled Eroding and Reforming Bust of Rome (One Year) is inspired by a prehistoric piece from the Louvre‘s collection, with the digital version encapsulating evolution over time.

The NFT showcases the bust living within a courtyard space with the sculpture slowly decaying and disintegrating until it resurrects in tandem with the changing of seasons. The constant cycle goes on for 12 months as it alters every month. The collection is composed of ten sculptures that operate on different time frames, with the final piece eroding over a period of 1,000 years.

Arsham’s NFT concept has been in development since 2019 with its release set for May 22 on Nifty Gateway.

Elsewhere in design, Pieter Ceizer prepares positive Hope and Peace wood sculptures.
