A new trailer is out for DC Comics’ upcoming superhero flick Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The film is slated to premiere in March as a sequel to the first 2019 installment centered on the eponymous character, seeing Zachary Levi reprise the role.
In the sequel, Billy Batson and his foster siblings are continuing to grapple with their newfound superpowers when a trio of evil goddesses called the Daughters of Atlas descend to enact vengeance. The kids must tap into their powers to stop the trio from destroying the Earth.
Asher Angel will play the younger version of Levi’s Batson. As for the rest of the Shazam family, Jack Dylan Grazer and Adam Brody will portray, respectively, the younger and older versions of Frederick “Freddy” Freeman. Ian Chen and Ross Butler will play Eugene Choi, alongside Faithe Herman and Meagan Good as Darla Dudley.
The Daughters of Atlas will be made up of Rachel Zegler as Anthea, Lucy Liu as Kalypso and Helen Mirren as Hespera.
“Okay here’s the situation,” Levi as the older Batson tells his siblings. “The Daughters of Atlas are coming to hunt us,” before cutting to Batson coming face-to-face with a fire-breathing dragon in the city streets.
“Children stole the power of the Gods,” Mirren tells him, foreshadowing that she and the fellow Daughters are on a mission to steal the power back.
