Hilarious moment TikTokers approach famous actor asking if he wants to date them

Two TikTok stars had a rather awkward moment as they approached a man on the street, proposing a date – before realising he was a famous actor.

It was equal parts cringe and hilarious.

Social media stars YouTuber Ruby Hexx and her friend Ivy Fox took part in a viral challenge where they approach strangers out and about and ask if they’d rather have $100, or go on a date with the two of them.

It seems the pals were having a whale of a time until one guy they approached on Soho Square turned out to be actual Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

‘Excuse me, would you rather have $100 or a date with us two?’, they asked him.

‘Oh, I’m in a relationship, so I’d take the $100,’ the Love Actually child star replied.

He was so sweet, i hope his gf sees this!@IVY FOX 🦊 😭 #thomasbrodiesangster

‘Argh!’, the content creators sighed in unison.

‘No offence,’ he assured them with a smile, causing them to laugh.

Before the girls could walk away, Thomas, 32, added: ‘But I’m also English, so dollars are no use to me.

‘So, I’d have neither!’

‘£90!’, they argued, to which Thomas jokingly agreed: ‘Alright, 90 quid!’

The girls then asked Thomas: ‘Just out of interest, are you an actor?’

He replied: ‘I am an actor, yeah.’

Seemingly confusing the Maze Runner star for someone else, they asked if he was in Narnia, to which he sweetly replied: ‘I went to the premiere of that, but I wasn’t in it!’

The movie star then bid farewell to the TikTokers after what was, undoubtedly, the most bizarre moment of his day.

It’s safe to say the internet was obsessed with the encounter, taking to the comments to express their shock at how they didn’t recognise the actor.

‘How dare you not know who he is 😭 only my whole childhood’, one person commented.

Another jealous follower wrote: ‘How did they just run into him 😭’

‘Not the result they wanted but he gave exactly what they needed 😂😂’, another quipped.

Indeed, Thomas is very much spoken for, having confirmed his relationship with Talulah Riley last year.

Talulah, 37, who is Elon Musks’s ex-wife, went public with her romance with Thomas at a pre-Baftas bash last March.

While they’ve kept things relatively low-key, Thomas did previously make a rare comment.

The pair met while working together on Pistol, the six-part Sex Pistols mini-series for Disney Plus, where he plays the band’s manager Malcolm McLaren and she’s fashion designer Vivienne Westwood.

However, romance between the pair didn’t spark until after they wrapped filming.

‘I wasn’t dating her at the time,’ he told the Guardian, before adding: ‘Thankfully we’re not too much like Viv and Malc.’

Talulah also shared a little insight into the start of their relationship.

In an interview with the Times, she revealed: ‘We hadn’t really acknowledged each other as a romantic possibility or potential until the moment that we both did. And it was the same moment a number of months after having worked together and been good friends.’
