Jimmy Gorecki's JSP and Vault by Vans Reunite for Chukka 79 "Roses Grown in Granite" Collaboration

Jimmy Gorecki‘s JSP and Vault by Vans have teamed up again for a new Chukka 79 collaboration dubbed “Roses Grown in Granite.” Drawing from Gorecki’s love of (and roots in) the Philadelphia skateboarding scene, the vibrant pink sneaker expounds on the Philly skate story told by JSP’s previous duo of Chukka collaborations.

Just like its predecessors, this pink Chukka features butter-soft suede uppers atop a white and pink checkerboard midsole. These midsoles are equipped with blue “JSP,” “215” (the Philadelphia area code) and “LOVE” hits, all done up in original hand style by Philadelphia street artist Joe Lees. More blue detailing is present on the foxing stripe, and semi-translucent toe bumpers/waffle soles add a little bit of cool flair to the look.

Inside the shoe, Vans’ checkerboard-patterned Ultracush insoles serve up skate-ready impact protection to round off the look. As the “Roses Grown in Granite” is indeed a family affair — one that aims to show the bonds shared by the Philly skaters who came up in legendary skate spot Love Park and its surrounding streets — the lookbook features Gorecki’s wife and daughter as well.

The JSP x Vault by Vans Chukka 79 “Roses Grown in Granite” will release via the JSP webstore on May 12. Its MSRP is set at $120 USD.
